I applied online. I interviewed at Astreya (Santa Clara, CA) in Mar 2026
Interview
I applied via LinkedIn for their Project Coordinator position. The recruiter contacted me via email asked a few questions and then after couple of days, I was asked if I am available for a video call interview with the hiring manager plus another person. It was a 30 minutes video call interview. The hiring manager spoke about the company and the position and proceeded to ask questions but I was confused that he was asking for someone who is more a Data Center technician rather than a Project Coordinator. I answered some of them but because he focused more on the technical side DC questions. It went on for 20 minutes (plus 5 minutes intro from both sides)...I was not able to ask any questions to him and the other person on the call. I was totally confused if they wanted a Data Center Technician (asking about installation, layout of the data center...etc.) which was not mentioned in the job description or someone who helps with the Data Center Project Management side of things. I am excited about being in the Data Center field at this time as it is currently booming but I am turned off about this whole interview process. There was not follow up email from the recruiter whatsoever after the initial interview with them, which is fine. I do not feel any good vibes from them.
Appeared that the company sold a solution that they were trying to create process & procedures on the fly as opposed to implementing a repeatable solution that had previously been implemented. Unclear the what the problems were that they were trying to solve.
Not a lot to it pretty simple. Did not see thorough and not sure what I was being interviewed for. Everyone seemed to rush through it. My technical interview essentially one technical question was asked.
