The interview wasn’t especially difficult, but it felt very scripted. Most of the questions were incredibly broad, and even when I asked for clarification, I didn’t get much guidance. It’s possible they were trying to see how I’d handle vague prompts, but without any context or follow-up, it just felt difficult to answer in a meaningful way. There were also technical questions, like “How would you deal with reconciling transactions?” but the interviewer openly mentioned that she had no experience in the area I was applying for (payroll), so it was hard to know what kind of answer she was even looking for. Overall, it felt more like they were checking off a list than trying to understand whether I’d be a good fit for the team or role. The interviewer missed our original interview due to getting the time wrong, and I haven’t heard anything about the status of my application after the interview and its been over two weeks now. Overall, the process felt disorganized and not especially thoughtful.
