      Sales Representative Interview

      Jul 10, 2012
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Apple (New York, NY) in Apr 2012

      Interview

Well the first interview consists of a ususally large group. 1-2 Apple Coporate HR members will be speaking about apple and showing videos that highlight how happy people seem while working for Apple. High quality videos..this is the good stuff. Then, they ask you individually to briefly describe yourself. Following that they ask you how you overcame issues in the past in the workplace and overcoming adversitiy. Then there are some group activities that basically ask you to put together a list of products for a customer traveling overseas. Then they give you the Apple application sheets to for stores and times that you are availible. On the back of said sheet, they have a list of questions regarding your apple knowledge. Dont worry about it. Its more so to see where you stand and doesnt have too much to do with hiring you since they offer training that will cover it. Second, there is either going to be a phone interview or a one on one interview. Basic questions as to why do you want to work with Apple, how have you over come things in the past, etc. If you get past that, there is a third interview with 2 of the lead managers in the store. One will speak to you The other will simply watch you while the other asks questions. Then, they switch. Now usually, If I am going to be interviewed, I get the job. This is not me being pompous or arrogant. I am just comfortable talking to people and have alot of experience in retail, so I can answer with confidence. However with the final interview, the pressure is like no other. Usually you are in a small room. The scrutinizing glare of either manager is on you. At that point and time I was not myself. I was in a bad place and I needed the job bad. Unfortunately, I floundered and didnt get a call back. Prepare yourself for the final interview. And good luck.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Honestly, the questions on the back of the initial sheet. While I have used the mobile apple products to a very great extent, Im not so keep on their desktops and laptops. While that isnt a problem and wont hinder you being hired, that was still the most difficult considering my lack of experience with those products.
