Recruiter -> take home assignment -> hiring manager interview -> "onsite" / panel interview. I'd say overall this was an extensive interview process with quite a few steps. The take home assignment was stated to take "no more than 2-3 hours," but it was definitely 6-7 to be done well - and the total interview process investment was ~15 hours total with preparation. While the experience was long, it was mostly good until the end. I was ghosted for ~2 weeks after the panel interview after being explicitly told I'd receive feedback within 2-3 days. I had to follow-up in order to receive any sort of update, which came in the form of a generic rejection email at 5:30PM on a Friday from a "no-reply@" email address. Anthropic doesn't offer interview feedback which I expected since that's listed on their careers page, but to be rejected after having to follow-up with a generic form "no-reply@" email after spending so much time was quite disappointing. A phone call at a minimum should be standard - and especially not a scheduled email at 5:30PM on a Friday.
