The interviewer asked me a few questions during the interview, mainly about my motivation and expectations for working there. They also asked me to briefly talk about why I’m interested in the roles I applied for, based on my past projects and relevant experience.

Question 1
Explain in brief your interest in the roles you have selected, based on your previous projects and relevant experiences that you are involved in the past.
Online Assessment
The first stage consisted of an online test with two components:
Python Coding Question: Tested problem-solving and programming ability.
Linear Regression Task: Required implementing a simple linear regression model on a given dataset.
Interview Rounds
The interview process included three rounds:
Round 1 – Technical/Project Discussion
Focused on projects mentioned in the resume and recent internships. Candidates were expected to explain their work in detail, highlighting technical skills, methodologies, and outcomes.
Round 2 – Case Interview
Similar to a consulting case interview, this round assessed problem-solving, analytical thinking, and the ability to structure solutions to business problems.
Round 3 – HR Interview
The final round was an HR discussion covering behavioral questions, motivation for joining McKinsey, and alignment with the firm’s values and culture.

There were 1 aptitude round, 2 technical rounds and HR round and it was on campus recruitment. Basic aptitude, tricky technical questions and average HR round. Overall a smooth process.
