      Supply Chain Manager Interview

      Nov 2, 2024
      Anonymous employee
      Austin, TX
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Amazon (Austin, TX) in Aug 2024

      Interview

Interview process took a couple months, there were multiple times when they had to cancel and reschedule the interview which can be difficult when you're in a full time job and navigating taking time off for an interview and have to continually call-out. Interview process required an assessment to be taken and then a series of 2 over the phone interviews and then round robin interview with 6 different current employees(some by themselves, some in pairs) in 4 different zoom calls one after another. Assessment has 2 parts both untimed. 1. Data Analysis portion - technical questions that gauge your ability to take a scenario/data and perform appropriate data analysis 2. Behavioral portion - questions meant to gauge how well you match up with leadership principles, some can be tricky but you really need to try to match up the meaning of the question with the leadership principle and answer accordingly. First interview was with recruiter - Very straight forward screening call. Second interview was with an employee - Asked general questions gauging competency with excel functions(explain the index match function, etc) and questions meant to gauge how well I matched up with leadership principles. They tell you the interviewer will not reveal the leadership principles he will be questioning you on but this guy told me right as the call started which helped me steer my answers. Final Round Robin Interview - Rotate through 4 different zoom calls with different Amazon employees who spend about an hour asking you questions and dive deeper into your past experience. I spent a lot of time preparing for his interview and I would suggest if you're serious about the job doing the same---study the leadership principles and gather past examples of accomplishments at work that reflect the leadership principles. Make sure you have LOTS of data to back up your accomplishments and have questions ready for every interviewer to ask them about their experience at Amazon and the role you're applying for. I'm not going to lie, the interview is hard. 4-5 hours of interviewing and answering questions is stressful and by the end I was getting pretty worn out and running short on prepared answers. But that's Amazon---they want to see how you perform under pressure and how well you prepare. Part of the rigorous interview process is meant to flush out people who don't prepare or can't think on their feet, so you need to be able to do both. I was given a very generous sign on bonus and received a 30% pay increase from my previous role, with lots of opportunities within the company to move up and around different roles later. The scheduling felt disorganized and they had trouble getting everyone's schedules aligned(it took about a month after my second interview to get my final interview scheduled) but I received my confirmation Amazon wanted to give me a job within 48 hours of my final interview and my formal written offer 3 days later. I will say if anything Amazon is prompt in their decision making, which continues after you join the company. It's a challenging interview process and a challenging company, not for everyone but if you really want to grow as a professional or expand your supply chain knowledge it's probably the best company in the world right now to work for. Pay's not bad either.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Amazon (São Paulo, São Paulo)

      Interview

      Interview

Following a successful initial HR screening, you have progressed to a pivotal one-hour interview with the hiring manager. This stage is characterized by a high-intensity, rapid-fire format that intentionally strips away "small talk" to maximize the evaluation of your professional competencies and situational judgment.

      Interview

6 back-to-back interviews - loop round. Mix of HM, peers, and cross-functional team members. The interview process relies heavily on their leadership principles, with 1-2 curveball questions. The answers should preferably quantify your problem, measurable outcome and what you may have learnt out of it.
