Fast interview process. New team still being built. ADL sounded like it is an exciting place to be. Mostly listened to the hiring manager rather than her asking me questions.

Disheartening and Very Confusing. The call with the recruiter was the best part. He understood very clearly the role and what he was looking for and made the conversation effortless and natural. I was excited before I interviewed because the role was so "me" and that fueled my interest even more, then the recruiters call took that to a whole new level in every positive way possible. I did my research and prepared myself for it. My interview came around and the interviewer was new to the role within that week and was in a marketing role previously. How that person was now an AD in CSM confused me but I am all for growth and that was not for me to judge. The team was relatively new and the growth of A-DL was new as well. I wanted to showcase my experience with the demographic and the success Ive helped obtain at my former organization in a similar space as well as speak on my experience (citing specific times) where I have contributed to a team at the ground level. This will give away exactly who I am but the interviewer seemingly just had my resume up scrolling up and down "ummmm" + asked a question...until he decided to school me on the history of Allergan. I am aware of the history of Allergan and A-DL completely taking my replies out of context even though I speak incredibly fluidly. They are the same but different. The company itself still defines itself as a startup environment. Theres a new Director, new AD's, new initiatives, new team members...this is new...this is foundational. I believe he was not fully engaged, he was not prepared. When I asked him if he were to create his perfect person for the role, what qualities would they bring, his reply was he didnt know. Why would you start interviews without at least a clear idea or direction? Why did you not look at my resume ahead of time instead of keeping your eyes peeled on the resume while we are speaking? The recruiter, 5 stars, amazing. The AD/Interviewer, I would be very surprised to see him last in a leadership role where compassion is the basis of the role. I should have run after reviewing his own profile.
The company is VERY cool, its product is incredible and its parent being Allergan/Abbvie is a powerhouse in itself, but this guy was not it.
Maybe I am wrong and maybe it was just too soon into his own start in the role to be interviewing but these are important things to consider before wasting a candidates time who is really committed to every interaction.

Interview
In the beginning, the interview process was going great. BTW, be prepared for 4 stages in the interview process which includes the 30-45 minute HR screen. I met with HR and the Creative Director. Interviews were pleasant, insightful, and engaging. However, when it came to the design review (3rd stage), I was met with disappointment. To start off, the meeting invite for the interview was sent after hours and set for the next morning. To my surprise when I checked my emails 7am, I had learned that I was scheduled to interview at 10am that morning. I figured rather than rescheduling, and possibly missing out on an opportunity to meet, I went ahead and prepared my questions, answers, etc... Unfortunately, I was not met w/ the same level of preparation from my interviewers. One of my interviewers had just started their role at ADL 2 days prior to my interview, and when prompted w/ follow-ups and whether they had any questions, I was met with ambiguous answers referring to their lack of knowledge of how the team is run, projects are scoped, etc.. In addition, the senior level designer who was also in the interview, had nothing to contribute. No insight, no questions.
This interview process left much to be desired.
