I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Aerotek (South San Francisco, CA) in Nov 2020
Interview
I heard about Aerotek after networking with some of their current Recruiters and heard about internal opportunities that had been opening soon. I talked to the head internal recruiter(the one who does the phone screening for everyone on the west coast), and they had moved me along the hiring process which was about a month. There were two steps after this.
Due to COVID-19, the next step was a virtual open house in which we had the opportunity to meet recruiters on different teams. During this time, and with approx. 14 other applicants, we were able to ask questions, as well as present ourselves to the teams that were hiring.
The last and final step was with the Director which consisted of being questioned on your life from start to finish. Be prepared to answer "Why" for everything you had done in your life. If there are discrepancies, or "holes" in your resume/experience, they will ask about it.
My advice to you if you want to work here is to make your resume is streamlined as much as possible. Try to ensure that all your jobs show growth in the same industry/field. You will be questioned if your major doesn't align with your past job experience.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Why did you choose to apply to become a recruiter?
Tell me about why your previous jobs weren't in the field of your major.
The interview process was quick. Lasting around 15 minutes. There are several interviews that you will go through. They will do an initial interview with the director. Then you will get scheduled for a follow up. This is where you meet the other recruiters and account managers. They will walk you around the office and have you shadow some of the recruiters.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What motivates you?
What’s your “why”?
Are you a go-getter?
Average difficulty covering standard interview questions. Phone screen followed by an in-person interview. Phone screen was received quickly after resume submission; in-person was with their head recruiter and then followed by one with their manager.
Phone screening call with the recruiter giving me information about the job, then another virtual call interview more in depth to ask me more questions. The final interview is in person in their office.
