I had been seeking an opportunity to join Aecom's PMO group for some time, and finally had the chance a few months ago. However, the recruiter would occasionally go quiet and leave me hanging. When I did finally secure an interview, it was scheduled for Friday at 4 pm - a time that left me and everyone else on the call feeling exhausted. Furthermore, the interviewer was unprepared, and asked me about my salary expectations. I provided a range, but they were unwilling to offer any further information. I suggested we could negotiate based on the other benefits on offer. During the interview, they indicated that they wanted to arrange a second interview, which left me feeling optimistic. However, once again, the recruiter went silent. When they finally reached out to me, I thanked them for the opportunity but declined to move forward. Once again, I was left in the dark. While I do not want this experience to diminish my respect for Aecom as a company, I do strongly suggest that they improve their recruiting process if they expect to maintain high standards in their employees. After all, we all deserve better.
