I am writing this to warn other applicants about the deceptive recruitment process at AARATECH. The initial stages were surprisingly professional, which is what makes this so dangerous: Recruiter Phone Screen: Conducted professionally with standard industry questions. Technical Zoom Screen: A standard technical interview that felt legitimate and relevant to the role. The Red Flag: Immediately after the technical screen, they sent a Google Form requesting highly sensitive information, including a passport-sized photo and a copy of my Driver’s License. The Outcome When I pushed back and professionally stated that I was uncomfortable sharing such sensitive documents via a generic form but was happy to undergo a background check through a legitimate 3rd-party company (e.g., Checkr or HireRight), they ghosted me completely. They did not reply to my email or offer any secure alternative. Advice to Candidates Do not provide your government ID, SSN, or photos during the interview phase. A legitimate company will only require these after a formal offer is signed, and they will use secure, encrypted HR portals—not Google Forms. This company appears to be a front for data harvesting/identity theft. Apply with extreme caution or avoid entirely.
