      Software Engineer In Test Interview

      May 21, 2019
      Anonymous employee
      Austin, TX
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at 8am (Austin, TX) in Mar 2019

      Interview

The interview process with AffiniPay went through smoothly. It took 2-3 weeks from start to finish. This was due to the flexibility of the HR and the team with adjusting to my work schedule and traveling plans. There were four rounds to the interview process which consist of an initial phone screening, code assessment, and two separate days of an in-person group interview. The phone screening was a step to learn more about the company along with providing a brief work history of myself. Afterward, I was given a code assessment that was required to be completed within 24 hours. They later brought me in for an in-person interview where I met with 3 Senior Quality Engineers split through 2 rounds. The interview consisted of whiteboarding, test case scenarios, professional history, and future goals. The second in-person interview was split through 3 rounds between 4 individuals. The first round was with a Senior Software Engineer and Software Engineer. Questions consisted of test case scenarios, CRUD examples, previous work history, and future goals. The second round was with a Quality Engineer who went over my code assessment, along with a few whiteboarding sessions and test concepts. The final round was with the VP of Engineering which was similar to the first round plus explaining the concept behind how a webpage is able to access and gather information from a bank. Overall, I enjoyed the interaction with the company and the team seem very open to learning about my the future plans in growth.
