I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at 3M in Sep 2016
Interview
It was only behavioural. They asked me things only to determine whether I was a leader and a problem solver. It was mainly just me explaining things on my resume.

Question 1
Give us a time you used your initiative to solve a problem
Behavioral interview with regular questions. Good to know technical specifications of role. Two people on call, one recruiter, one person on the team for which they are hiring. Overall great experience
I applied through university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at 3M (Evanston, IL) in Oct 2017
Interview
Completed and interview on campus. Mostly behavioral questions and going over resume. There were no interviews after this. It took them longer to respond than they said it would, but it was only by a week or two. The interviewer was friendly and made it seem very casual.
I applied through university. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at 3M (Austin, TX) in Oct 2016
Interview
I spoke to 3M at my school's career fair and was contacted close to two months later for an interview. I don't believe that is the standard time frame, I got the impression that they were somewhat disorganized this year. The man interviewing me was nice and somewhat casual compared to other interviews I have had; he stated in the email to dress business casual and that it was not necessary to wear a suit.

Question 1
All questions were standard behavioral questions; nothing surprising or excessively difficult.
