How are senior leaders perceived at TD?

      TD reviews

      Great and Stable company

      It operations manager
      Current employee
      Toronto, ON
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Good benefits, flexibility of working from home, great leadership

      Cons

I can’t think of any cons, it is dependent on your specific department

The reverse colonization of TD Canada

      Senior managing engineer
      Former employee
      Toronto, ON
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

TD has become a stalwart of the Canadian economy over its 100 plus years of existence. It has been a pioneer in weekend banking, successfully penetrated and expanded into the lucrative US market and become a staple investment with consistent YoY returns and profit growth over the recent decades. Working at TD has become a badger of honor .. until recently

      Cons

In recent years, its success in the US market had led to some eye brow-raising side developments . One of the best known has been the well publicized Money laundering scandal. But a lesser know, if equally egregious failing has been its treatment of Canadian staff ( especially in TRCHONLOGY) . New senior leadership brought in from Wall Street and the wider US created a domino effect of hiring and promotions of ‘good ol’ boys all the way from the C-level through the layers of VP hierarchy down to the AVP and Senior manager level. Management numbers grew rapidly , while the complement of Canadian and minority talent took a nosedive. This went against the very core values that TD HR policy was supposed to stand for. Fortunately as CEO change took place following the expensive and embarrassing AML failings came to light, the reverse colonization itself started to be reversed. Hopefully these and other changes will help to restore sign of the soul of the old TD, but a lot of damage has been done and much repair and restoration will be required to this great Canadian brand.

      Pros

Good culture, Great leadership, Work life balance, brand value, training

      Cons

Salary is not competitive as per market standards

      Amazing

      Sales
      Current employee
      Toronto, ON
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

TD can be a great place to work because it offers stability, competitive benefits, and opportunities for professional growth. Employees often value the collaborative culture, supportive leadership, and the company’s commitment to diversity and inclusion. With clear career paths and resources for training, people can feel motivated to build long-term careers while enjoying a healthy work-life balance.

      Cons

On the other hand, TD may feel like a challenging place to work for some because of the fast-paced, corporate environment that can be demanding and stressful. Targets and performance expectations may feel high, and like in many large organizations, bureaucracy can slow down decision-making and limit flexibility. Some employees might also feel that it’s easy to get lost in such a big company, with less individual recognitio

      Pros

Great benefits and nice upper management

      Cons

Work life varies from location to location, I have dealt with tough management at my branch but I have met great management at other branches.

Absolutely insane- Frequent changes in the organisation

      Pros

It was good a year back, but new management and new leadership team is creating lot of mess and chaos. Leadership team is asking to do the Job which junior level people has to do! Leadership is not knowing the right skills for the people who has more experience

      Cons

Both pros and cons are same

      Pros

Company culture, good upper management, a lot of growth opportunities, job stability

      Cons

Can be very slow, moves like a beaurocracy

      Tides are Turning

      Senior product manager
      Former employee
      Toronto, ON
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Most colleagues are great people. The culture is unique, but seems to be shifting under new CEO. Plenty of technological support to get your job done.

      Cons

Constantly being told to do more with less - less people, less spending, but squeezing more out of everyone, and then chirping about work life balance and being your authentic self at work. Bottom line is it depends on your manager, and how they handle it.

      Challenging But worth it.

      Pros

The company as a whole is great. Great benefits, schedule and flexibility. Id recommend getting into this environment if you see yourself staying long term.

      Cons

What leaves to be desired is the culture among employees and support from leadership or upper management. favoritism and left fending for yourself when you need support.
