Does KPMG have a sabbatical or career break policy?

Pros

The people are definitely the best. I love all my coworkers and they are all motivated, hardworking team players. I love the opportunity to learn. There is so much to learn and there is a good amount of exposure to the areas of work. The culture and investment that the company emphasizes in their people is also great. Trainings are helpful and enjoyable and the company is committed to ensuring their staff are prepared for their work. The company has other benefits as well like paid time off and sabbatical programs and other opportunities to try new ventures such as rotations etc.

Cons

It's very challenging and stressful and during busy season the team puts in a lot of hours. It's very overwhelming and stressful. They pay isn't the best especially for the amount of stress and the number of hours that we work. Flexibility is minimal/nonexistent during busy season. At times, especially with the limited staffing people are spread to thin. This is at all levels. The company is trying to hire professionals especially at the Senior level so that should help the environment.

Advice to Management

I think the company could benefit by helping training and coach more on the front end(at all levels) to ensure that work is being accomplished efficiently. Hiring more and paying more would help to enable managers to invest and prepare seniors and in turn seniors to help prepare staff.

The company has other benefits as well like paid time off and sabbatical programs and other opportunities to try new ventures such as rotations etc.

Does KPMG offer dental insurance?

Pros

Name recognition, WFH stipend, 401k match, Travel opportunities

Cons

Horrible insurance - my new company's insurance is 1/5th the cost with 5x the coverage. Relocating is nearly impossible. Rotating to other teams is also nearly impossible. The culture is extremely toxic. Seniors and managers will tell you to your face you did a good job on something, only to tear you to shreds behind your back to the partners. Utilization goals and work life balance are both impossible. You will not realize how horrible it is to work at this company until you leave. I received more respect working in fast food than I did here. Leadership is the opposite of transparent. We were not informed about layoffs until 8am on the morning of layoffs. This company pays plenty of money to get ranked highly on different workplace rating articles, but let me assure you they view you as an input of labor and nothing else. Management does a horrendous job of planning out engagements and will always have you working until 3am the night before something is due, even if they knew about the deadline months in advance. The pay is obscenely below market and the bonus structure is pathetic.

Advice to Management

Gut management and start over. Pay attention to what associates and senior associates are experiencing. Our utilization goals are dependent on how many deals the partners win in the market - so associates should not be punished for a partner's failure. Either increase salary or set expectations lower. We are not robots. We are human beings. Be clear about expectations and deadlines.
