What is working from home like at BAE Systems USA?

Company will sponsor your clearance. 15k a year in tuition assistance. Can work from home when not needed at office. Can do the bare minimum and get a paycheck. People working at the site make it work.

No reason to stay after you get a clearance. No reason to stay after you learn system(s) this site is working on and jumping to Lockheed. No training, reading PowerPoint presentations mostly. The quality of work done is reflective of the salary.

If you are not a part of the "boys club", you will be passed up for promotions. If you speak out against sexual harrassment, you will be made to feel like the wrong one in the situation. If you choose to report sexual harrassment or any other issues, your own manager and their manager will spread rumors about you while HR does nothing. And the manager that spreads rumors about you will be provided a promotion. They will provide you with a "WFH" package, only to revoke it without a real reason. They have favorites. and they do not understand cultural differences. Again, unless you are white and male, OR a female willing to put other women down, you will not make it far. If you did, it was not because of the organization at this location, but rather one good individual manager.

Good way to gain exposure to the defense industry. Pay is fairly solid for interns. Ability to work from home at will.

Projects are too simple and aren't very rewarding. Inability to improve upon new skills or develop new ones. Lack of proper team communication due to virtual nature.

Promotion is limited. You can only advance so far without becoming a people manager.
