Pros

Salary quite ok, you also get monthly performance bonuses, a good amount of days off are offered

Cons

If you're looking for a job where the management is poor, lies are told to your face (but you'll realise that just after a while though), you focus on improving your work overall and upgrade your skills and do your job better week by week just to have your manager telling you "Yeah, well good job, BUT.." (and sometimes not even that) and on top of all that, to be at risk to be made redundant out of a sudden after a few months, this is the place. The values they advertise they have are just words thrown into thin air and this pretty much applies to the platform too - it looks and sounds great due to some good marketing strategies. This only works great for the senior developers but I doubt they wouldn't be able to find a job just as great if they apply themselves anyways. There are some nice people to work with but the rookie management and the environment overall is a bluff. I definitely do not recommend it.

Pros

A salary is paid monthly. It’s a job.

Cons

Please avoid this business at all costs. - White middle class and middle aged men only in the executive team - A lie of a software that claims it uses AI but it is manual clicks by customer success every day - A big round of redundancies every 3-6 months with no rhyme or reason (one happened the same month the business received its series B funding, check LI posts of recent/past employees). Apparently they have been doing this for YEARS with the most recent Jan 2024. - The CEO clearly has no idea how to run a business and has surrounded himself with fellow idiots.

Hi there Thank you for taking the time to share your opinion with us. You have raised a number of serious concerns we would like to address in this response: - Our Executive Team is made up of 8 people based across 2 countries, of which 2 are women, which is 25% of the team. One of our male Executive Team members is also ethnically diverse. Please refer to our website here to confirm this: https://hackajob.com/about-us. We are committed to diversity and inclusion at all levels of our organisation, up to and including our Executive Team. We acknowledge the importance of having diverse perspectives and experiences to drive innovation and success, particularly as a company supporting and enabling the success of diverse customers and candidates. - One of our goals for 2024 is to move from an AI-enabled product to an AI-led product by the end of the year. While we are on the journey towards that, human intervention remains critical to enabling the full functionality of our product. - We understand your frustration regarding redundancies. Restructuring is sometimes necessary for the long-term health of a company and the decision to do so is never taken lightly. We are aware of the impact it has on our employees and we've tried our best to make these changes as manageable as possible for everyone involved. Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts. As a current employee we would love the opportunity to discuss this review and your point of view further, so we can do better at communicating key topics with our teams. Please feel free to Slack or email anyone from the People Team or come along to our recently launched People Team Office Hours for an informal, confidential chat. Thanks, Amy, Director of People

Pros

Decent office. Some of the talent advocates are nice people.

Cons

CEO founder doesn't realise how thick he is. Tells transparent lies together with the other founder to keep us employed at really poor pay. Management gets emotional if you ask about late salary paid or for promised salary reviews or about anything really. Operates like a sweatshop call centre with no regard for hours worked. Claim to be metric driven but that's an excuse for them to treat you like animals at weekly meetings shouting at you for not calling enough developers or conjuring placements out of thin air. Romanian ceo keeps saying we're a tech company and that we'll all make money once he sells (been saying the company is about to sell for years but no one's stupid enough to buy us). Staffed by a bunch of poorly educated inflated egos.

We take feedback extremely seriously and are disappointed to see a review which is profoundly different to the reality. We have built hackajob on a strong ethical foundation, we are very receptive to our staff’s needs and have created a culture which promotes transparency, innovation and diversity. hackajob has a world class team working on one of the most challenging issues of our time which is unconscious bias and how this affects decision making in the workplace. We all are really passionate about growing the company to have an impact at a global scale and would love to speak with anyone who wants to be part of this exciting journey. :)
