Weekender and its CEO love to appear as though is a rapidly growing start up hotel chain with unlimited growth potential when in reality it's lead by an incompetent and never present man-child. The "growth" and new positions advertised are that because there is a revolving door of folks being fired and hired for the same roles from hotel general managers, operations other administrative roles. In the time I've been here I've seen at least 3 operations managers, countless general managers and other leaders exited shortly after being brought on or hiring for new roles abandoned all together even at final stage interviews. The directives from the CEO are ever changing and rarely actioned because of the millions of fires being put out mostly due to lack of funds. He is also constantly traveling or unavailable and wants to pass on the most work as possible to others. I've seen hotel general managers be asked to oversee at least 3 properties at once without additional help or compensation. Salaries are incredibly below market rate especially for the work and ever changing responsibilities- including unpaid interns. It's 2023, pay your interns and part time folks accordingly! They will low ball you and sell you on the vision of the company. If Mr. Weimer could actually action his vision and be a present leader he might be successful. Also, the hotels are cheap and half assed renovations, please do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else that actually can pay a front desk person to be present and check you into your over priced room.
