I have been working at Wawanesa Insurance full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

They offer a lot of opportunity for people to advance in their careers and promote education and training.
A lot of new positions and departments being created for movement and change.
They provide a lot of training to their leadership who are great mentors.

    Cons

Changes come full force and it is hard to keep up at times. There has not been a lot of material readily available to help transition into new positions. ( they now have a department that focuses on this though)!

    Pros

I cannot think of any pros. It used to be a very good company that cared about employees but now they are in transition to be like an Intact, where growth and money overrides employees needs and employees are just numbers. People with 10-20+ years in the company are leaving every month it feels like, all departments are under staffed and management does nothing to keep people. Low support for all employees, low morale all throughout the company.

    Cons

-Took away our pension plan of defined benefits, changed it to industry standard.
-No flex time or work from home options (though you have to take your laptop everywhere you go in case of an emergency and they need you to work on evenings or weekends)
-Micro managing. Management wants every second of your day accounted for.
