Reluctantly awarding one star

Pros

There really are no positives to working for this company unless you are heavily embedded within the most senior/head office community.

Cons

Please see "Pros" for guidance. However for a deeper insight, let's look at this section by section: Career Opportunities - I have awarded one star because the staff turnover here is so astronomically high it's literally in orbit. It is highly likely that no career objectives will ever be achieved here. Victims, sorry, staff of the branch offices will join and generally fall foul of the toxic environment or be managed out within 6-9 weeks. Compensation & Benefits: Salaries are below average as is the commission structure. An interesting fact here. I have seen first hand evidence that senior management are trained in diagnosing medical conditions... no, no, sorry they're not. But if they think you have a medical condition expect to receive alterations to the terms of your employment whether you agree to them or not. Cultures and Values: Interesting this one. Imagine a room full of MLM Sales Managers, or for those who have seen the movie adaptation of Roald Dahl's "The Witches", I'm referring to the vile coven of over-dressed, heavily made-up, largely mature "ladies" celebrating the arrival of Angelica Houston's "Grand High Witch" before they reveal their horrendous, vulgar real selves. This is the Senior Management. Unless you are one of these you will never fit in and be regarded as nothing other than "doggie droppings" (again to quote Roald Dahl) until you are exterminated. (For a tangible - albeit tame, as this is a public forum - example of this see the review posted from Head Office trying to single out a poor individual for posting a review, place the blame on them and admonish all responsibility on their part). Diversity & Inclusion: See "Culture & Values". Senior Management: See "Diversity & Inclusion" & "Culture & Values" Work/Life Balance: There is none. They own you. You can negotiate all you like but signing a contract of employment here is like selling your soul.

Just Awful

Pros

You get an office to work from daily.

Cons

Absolutely everything else. The management team survives only due to the hemorrhaging of staff from the levels below and are generally inept at fee earning themselves. They are told to manage by fear and that "the most effective teams are managed by intimidation". Every move is monitored and analysed through extensive micromanagement and activity, positive or not, is used in reviews against the staff. Very few staff last beyond the 6 month probationary period mainly due to either poor treatment, loss of patience with being micromanaged in every aspect of their day, lack of motivation to fee earn due to the poor bonus structure, and (this is the only success of the management style), that there will always be a member of staff in each office ready to feed information, twisting the truth, to management in a vain attempt to stay in the positive light of the senior management to avoid the daily persecution received by their colleagues. There is constant goal post moving. Don't ever share a previously successful idea; it will be stolen, taken credit for by another higher up the food chain, then altered to become unsuccessful, and passed back to the originator to take the flack! Benefits are also sub-standard; the statutory minimal holiday entitlement has to be taken in a prescribed fashion, for top billings barely £250 a month commission will be added to an already below average salary. Own cars have to be used for business mileage for the statutory minimum mileage allowance. Own cars also have to be insured at own cost for business use (proof of insurance cover will be required). There is a lot of take and very little give and the only consistency here is the high staff turn over.

Pros

Monday-Friday working pattern Reasonable base salary for the area (although other benefits at the absolute minimum they can legally provide) Room for internal promotion (due to the constant massive staff turnover) Some (but not all) friendly and pleasant colleagues

Cons

Soooo many! Utterly inept senior management that constantly micromanages all staff to within an inch of their lives. A disgracefully high staff turn over - I was there a little over a year and I was the 3rd longest serving consultant in the entire company (all offices). Terrible CRM system that is non industry specific and at least 25 years old. All staff forced to follow a minute by minute "sales strategy" that plans your entire day - I'm sure it was great before the internet came along and before the competition evolved but is now killing your business Branches closing left right and centre - this firm has a terrible reputation in the industry and deservedly so. Pretty much all major clients have moved to more modern and innovative competitors. If you don't meet minimum target you'll be gone in no time (understandable). However, you are given virtually no room to work and sell in your own style - it has to be Wise's old fashioned dated way (that doesn't work) or nothing. Terrible "bonus" structure. Rude and obnoxious Admin/Compliance Manager.
