I have been working at The Body Shop part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Since the company keeps a lot of the same products year round, it’s easy to gain an intimate relationship with what you’re working with and make recommendations for customers. I find it hard working for companies that have new product launches all the time. As well, it’s interesting learning about the stories behind the sourcers. You aren’t encouraged to be pushy, more so informative when it comes to selling which I like. 50% is amazing!!

    Cons

Consultants and managers feel as though they don’t have a say in company policy changes. Either too many hours or not enough hours given to staff - hard to get shifts changed or covered given the small workforce at each store. I have seen a lot of employee burnout.

I worked at The Body Shop full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great place to work at for the friends you make and the impact it gives to the world.

    Cons

Low wage for the amount of work and expertise required from the staff. Locations are also often understaffed causing the existing teams to take on more responsibility and time into their jobs than normal.

I worked at The Body Shop part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great colleagues, prompt pay checks, good employee discounts

    Cons

Unreliable management with scheduling, will post out schedules 1-2 weeks ahead (which is good) BUT will change it often WITHOUT any notice, and they expect you to know all the time because you have login access to the schedules online (so they expect employees to check at 10pm every night incase they have an additional schedule at 9am tomorrow morning?)

I worked at The Body Shop full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Product discounts and occasional free products for team with npd launches

    Cons

Not enough hours for p/t employees, not competitive pay for associates. Workload is unrealistic sometimes with the hours given. Shipment and delivery inconsistencies, consistently sold out of “hero” products and customers are kept on wait lists for ever. Systems and processes are outdated. High waste of products- from products being opened and used. More support needed from corporate business partners with recruitment needs
