Pros

The coworkers are mostly nice and friendly, and the discount is ok

Cons

Terrible management who are racist and don't care about anyone but themselves. Very low pay, no employee appreciation, no support. Management always goes against what employees have said to customers.

Pros

Amazing people to work with. Modern clothes with discounts for employees.

Cons

Management is terrible. You'll get interrupted when you're speaking with a customer. You'll be asked to hang up the phone while you're speaking with a customer because it's too busy. Customers who do not make large purchases are ignored by managers. Management will make sure they take their time off on your account. You will be scheduled if you booked a day off or outside your availability. If you call in sick you'll need to find a replacement; doesn't matter if it's an emergency. You'll get literally yelled at across the store, constantly micromanaged and negative criticism is given in front of peers and customers. If it's a slow day you will be sent home after 3 hours. If there's a trunk show, you'll be asked to wear a Talbots outfit from the most recent collection which can cost min $35+ for just a top. Your request for vacation or a weekend can be denied because management is away. Management will ensure they get their time off if it means to schedule staff outside their availability. Environment is toxic, employees are mistreated and disrespected constantly. You get paid min wage no matter how long you've worked there.

Pros

- Amazing coworkers, the atmosphere is amazing there because of associates you work with - Gives you an experience of working with clients one-on-one and build your clientele - Amazing discounts for associates

Cons

- Not enough hours at all. Promised to give me around 25 hours a week, after 3 weeks of working started to give like 8-13 hours a week - If the store doesn't meet the sales target, they cut your hours even to having one 4 hours shift - In normal companies when someone goes on vacation their hours are being put into other people, in Talbots they don't do it, those hours are just wasted - They pay minimum wage and they don't give a raise no matter how long you work there. - Get's very repetitive because associates don't have too many responsibilities so the job gets boring over time.
