Great atmosphere, they stressed in my interview that they would only hire people who they felt would mesh well with the team. Extremely supportive staff, managers, and lots of support between all the stores. Great training.

    Cons

I don't have any cons for Staples Rexdale!

I worked at Staples part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Better than other part-time jobs like fast food
    - Discount on useful items
    - Generally flexible with scheduling for students

    Cons

    - Manager took almost half a year to get my pay direct deposited, ignored my emails and told me he would do it when I asked in person. This might just be specific to my location
    - Management also didn't do much when I got harassed by customers (I was ~20 when I was working there), some customer was filming me from a distance which was extremely uncomfortable but my shift manager didn't kick him out!

    Potential to get promoted.
    Occasional training with products.
    Always hiring.

    Cons

    Fragmented management depending on location.
Increasing quotas and removing products creates difficulties.

Training resources & structure treated very informally/ improperly.
    "extended warranty salespeople"

    Advice to Management

Please do some more in-depth research around the work roles and how they upheld between positions. All the high-school students which frequently call in sick and skip shifts should be dealt with more solidly. This job can be quite good if there are more opportunities to learn hands on and pathways for promotions are more solidy defined.
