We are glad you learned a lot during your time at Safety Net. Helping folks gain experience and develop their skills through mentorships and training is one of our priorities.
It is common knowledge that people are happier when they find satisfaction in the work they do. Working at a Managed Service Provider offers exposure to different technologies in a variety of environments. You help folks in the front office, on the manufacturing floor, and those in the C-Suite. When over 75 companies rely on you for IT support, the pace is fast, and the work is plentiful. Not everyone will find satisfaction in that situation, but many do. In fact, 1/3 of our team has been with Safety Net for 5 years or more, with our 2 most tenured associates celebrating 15 years in 2022! As an organization that is less than 20 years old, this makes us feel proud.
Like any successful organization, Safety Net is always evolving. That means looking in the mirror and recognizing where there is room for improvement, as well as identifying the things we do well, and continuing to do them! Our leadership team works together to ensure our teammates are in positions that highlight their strengths, even if that means shuffling from one department to another. In plenty of cases, solid members of our team are ready for a change, and we do what we can to make that happen. Promotions are earned through hard work, accountability, and positively impacting colleagues and clients. We’ve already celebrated three promotions in the first three months of this year!
Safety Net is an open book company. A spreadsheet detailing our annual budget and our actual expenses is published internally. We openly discuss financials in our monthly, full-company huddle. Questions are encouraged, and the answers are transparent. Profits are distributed through our gain share program. A portion of Safety Net’s profits are invested in the company, and the other half is paid to the whole team as a bonus up to four times per year.
Folks at Safety Net are people people. They’re people you can talk to, and people who enjoy spending time with others. That may be networking with fellow businesspeople, community members, current clients, or future clients. It may be a happy hour, a get together at the mini golf or disc golf course, or a family outing to a local baseball game. It’s true, many of our annual company picnics have included bounce houses!
Online review sites, like Glassdoor, don’t allow a company to “fluff” their reviews. They also limit the number of reviews any one person can submit. Do we encourage people to share their honest perspective? Absolutely! It’s only fair that people taking a new step in their career get a feel for how our current team feels. Reading all a business’s reviews offers insight into how former employees feel, too. Most of us have left some jobs on good terms, and others on not-so-ideal terms. We hope everyone leaves Safety Net as a stronger professional and a better teammate.
We encourage candidates going through our interview process to pick up the phone and call Safety Net. Ask to be transferred to anyone who is available or look at our website and select a specific person they find interesting. Ask about their experiences, find out what they like or don’t. We won’t tell applicants who to talk with – that choice is entirely theirs.
We’ve never heard of the world-renowned Dale Carnegie training encouraging folks to function like a cult. But we know that “How to Win Friends and Influence People” is a best seller for a reason. At Safety Net, building relationships and effectively communicating matter.
