I worked at SAIT full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Excellent benefits package if you gain permanent status. Well organized, effectively run department.

    Cons

Training was lacking. The main software used is antiquated and not at all user friendly. Opportunity to advance within the department was limited.

    Advice to Management

Improve on-boarding and move to a newer version of Banner or get new software.

I have been working at SAIT full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great place to work. Students are great and there are many benefits.

    Cons

Management does not have a very balanced perspective - basically managing numbers only.

    Advice to Management

Think about more than just financials - capacity, reputation, and the ability to become world-class requires more than just a focus on one perspective. (financials count, but they are only part of the picture)

I have been working at SAIT full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Health benefits, vacation and time off and campus amenities (free use of gym, easy access to C train, lots of food options)

    Cons

Top heavy management structure, management can be bullies despite preaching the FIRST principles of fairness, integrity, respect, etc. Lack of long term and consistent planning on the part of management. Every day is ad-hoc and a rush to meet demands. Unless in a union, salary for the same position varies wildly across the organization and within teams.
