If you have options, this place should be at the bottom of your list.

    Pros

-The pay was not terrible. -The office is nice. -Some good shows -Some nice and talented people go through here.

    Cons

-Non-existing Pipeline. 'Just figure it out' is gonna be you most common feedback. -Unwillingness to change or improve. 'This is the way we do things here' kind of mentality. -Extremely toxic and combative atmosphere. One person in particular brings this about (you will know who that is if you work here). But in general there is tension in the air at most times. -They treat artist as disposable. Squeeze as much as you can out of them until they burn out and quit - move on to the next one. -They attack and belittle artists, in a very public way, when they don't meet their unreasonable expectations. -You will noticeably age during your time here. Not a joke, some people were becoming physically/mentally unhealthy, due to the stress of working here (me included).

    Nice People. No Pipeline.

    Pros

    Nice people. Very Talented supervisors.

    Cons

You're going to be getting to know your nice coworkers very well because this company has no pipeline. Literally have to figure out a workflow per shot because there is no standard. There is no permissions or restrictions on doing anything on the file system. No time-saving tools implemented to speed things up. No publishing system in place, everything is published in a completely manually. Clients should be worried about security here, no restrictions whatsoever on artists to email out plates etc.

Great for senior artists or people trying to get their foot in the door. Not so great for anyone else.

    Pros

The pros are that you get to work on some great shows. However that can be said about any VFX house in Toronto.

    Cons

If you are not a senior artist, prepare to be taken advantage of. Long hours, Crunch time, low pay, and callous management leads to a stressful environment that promotes burnout and very little recognition. The management uses unnecessary stress and pressure to get quicker results.

Toxic, but good foot in door company.

    Pros

They manage to get decent TV shows to work on. Small crew means you get to work on a lot of cool stuff personally.

    Cons

Toxic work environment. Ive seen production cry in the parking lot. They tend to fire people out of the blue to give raises to others. Producers are asking a lot of their crew each week and push people beyond the limit. Since they are getting big budget TV... on a skeleton crew... they put immense pressure on staff and often yell at them if its not done on time. Usually its a project underbid problem. They don't want to invest money in their workers-- but would rather just suck the life of out their crew to make the coin as fast as they-- all to fund the next rush job. Also has had several workplace harassment issues swept under the rug to keep longtime seniors from being fired.

    Pros

Messy and unprofessional upper management. Only good for juniors to start.

    Cons

Everything is not organized. People just kept on looking for excuses to blame on others.
