there I have a question which is when I miss some words from someone, should I say 1, Sorry I didn't catch your words. or 2, Sorry I don't catch your words. I think the first one has a meaning of I didn't catch the words then, but I do now, Is that right?
Cons
The first one means that you didn't catch the words when they were spoken. You use it to let someone know they should repeat what they have just said. You could also use it if you didn't catch their words at first but now you understand what they said. If you do that, you will probably have to add something to explain the meaning. (You would probably wouldn't begin with 'Sorry' either.) : "I didn't catch your words at first, but now I understand" [ -- or something like that].
