Pros

The pay is reasonable, benefits are included. They have a really good Christmas party every year

Cons

"Training" consists of a bunch of out of date Powerpoint and video presentations. After which you're on the phone lines taking calls. You're expected to learn as you go, but you never actually get any feedback on what you're doing, so it's hard to learn. Someone may have solved the problem you're having weeks ago, but the only way you'd find out is if they happen to be looking over your shoulder. Even the "senior" techs are guessing most of the time. Every other week is a new catastrophe, which is mostly caused by failing to plan for major releases and insufficient Q&A on updates going out the door. If something new is added to the program you're supposed to be troubleshooting, you can be sure the first you'll hear about it is when an angry customer is on the line saying it isn't working. OT requests go out so frequently that they're largely ignored by staff. Even when informational posts go out, they're usually either 2 days into a problem or 20 minutes before an update goes out that fixes it (probably breaking something else in the process). The culture of the Helpdesk is also not so bright and shiny. Some people have been reported for their behaviour and attitude several times, resulting in only some stern words and a "don't do it again"

Pros

Corporate benefits with Panasonic Canada Good benefit package plan Management team very undertstanding of work/life balance I can assure you the Feb 2018 review is 100% untrue/false, racism? Bigotry? This company is owned by Panasonic Canada who have an open door policy for issues like this, there is regular online courses you have to pass on issues like ethics, tolerance, diversity, etc., and if any of the issues that 1-star review suggests are occurring were occurring, they would be quickly resolved from the highest corporate level. Panasonic is a global brand and leader in diversity and tolerance.

Cons

Some areas of building too small for team Vacation time capped at 4 weeks after 10 years

Pros

Average pay if you're bilingual: $18 h

Cons

- No leaders, only bullies - Racism, bigotry, sexual harassment and intimidation are part of the sub-culture - Poor training - Poor documentation - Poor work procedures - Poor performance reviews - Micromanagement - All the important knowledge is trusted in the hands of a select few that will belittle you if you ask questions. Also known as power tripping. - Projects are assigned according to who can kiss up the best, not hard work, not competence (buy the so-called manager a couple of italian cannolis) - You are expected to do lots of overtime, but good luck using the banked time as you like it. Or be paid in a timely manner. - If you work on the phones you will take calls endlessly. Because management has no clue how to be organized - Dysfunctional outdated tools and no desire to upgrade or invest - You will be treated like a child and belittled - Those who commit the most outrageous violations are allowed to stay and the company will go at great length to protect them - Witnesses of illegal acts will be intimidated into silence - HR doesn't care about the employees just the company This is one of the most toxic environments you can work in. Carefully consider your options.
