I worked at Primark full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Face paced, lots of responsibility and opportunities to solve problems

    Cons

No support and no rewards or positive feedback for a job well done. Loved my team but the managers are the problem. I was regularly left alone for a whole day to run four departments whilst the managers sat in their office doing paperwork and training. Managers barely did anything when they were on the floor and didn't know what they were doing. When I left I got no words of thanks or anything like that even though I worked there almost five years. Very stressful. Is more about who you are friends with then how well you can do the job when it gets to management levels. If you are committed to your job and a hard worker they will take advantage of you. So many staff in my store took time off with mental health issues due to the stress of the job and the lack of appreciation from managers.

    Advice to Management

Appreciate and respect your staff more. Give them discount and rewards for a good job. They are the heart of your business, not the managers

I have been working at Primark part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

While i was working for a smaller store in Plymouth there were opportunities to progress however these were few and far between and there would be fierce competition even for transferring to full time hours, the people are friendly and the work is easy.

    Cons

Lack of challenge, good job for part time roles, can incur lack of progression.

    Advice to Management

Give people more opportunities that want them.

I worked at Primark part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Management was usually supportive and you would get to meet customers from other countries.
    Colleagues were amazing.

    Cons

As with any job it's a busy place and workload can be a lot especially if you work in the flagship stores (Tottenham court road east and marble arch stores) they are very large and can get very busy.
Also there's not a lot of variety once you're in a section that's yours for the rest of your time. So if you get bored quite easily maybe it's not the best option for you.

    Advice to Management

It's requires time and effort but maybe a rota for employees would be good e.g. one month on shop floor one month or tills or another floor so that the employees can really get to know the store.
