    The culture of the organization is what attracted me to the company and why I continue to stay.     Continue working together to create the strategy and aligning organizational goals to all levels. Morale has continued to improve over the past year and the transparency to employees is good - keep it going.

    Hard work pays off. Easy to get along with co workers as you can always talk about pets and learn from each other.     Not a lot. Retail hours can be annoying but that's any retail job. Occasional difficult customers, however there are many resources available to go the extra mile to appease them.     Friendly managers (most of the time) Lots to learn about all of the animals

    Cons

    Customer service and the little of knowledge customers know before looking for a pet.

    Advice to Management

    Teach associates how to properly defuse a situation with pet parents who are adamant on getting their pet of choice on the day, regardless of their knowledge.

    I have been working at PetSmart full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    The animals are great, and usually the other pet care workers are nice, however management and the groomers are snobby.

    Cons

    You are asked to do everything in pet care, take care of customers outside of your department, stay after close past when you have finished your own job - to help other people who are lazy and did not finish their jobs. They also send the mammals too young so they are still crying for their mothers and it is really sad.

    Advice to Management

    Management is lazy and makes everyone else work like crazy to make up for their lack of work.

    Paid weekly Around animals Managers can be understanding/helpful Many locations to transfer to Benefits and retirement savings options for part time staff

    I adore the dogs, I have made life long friends with my co workers

    Cons

    You have to lie to pet parents, they don't care if you are injured, they let aggressive dogs in, they DO NOT care about your pet at all, its all about money with almost no regard to the pets safety or employees, the managers do not know how to do there job and expect us to do upper level management with minimum pay wage

    Advice to Management

    Just shut down the hotels in Canada, they are run appallingly, I would never bring my own dogs there

    Everything else. Management is terrible, awful people who do not care about their employees at all. Many managers are micromanagers who will make you feel stupid and small. Others will retaliate against you and receive zero punishment for it and continue to make their high paying wages.
