I worked at New Balance part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Employee Discount (which for the most part cannot be used in-store) Co-workers (if you even have a second to talk to them)

    Cons

Too many to list... The most disorganized retail store I have ever worked in... the manager is a glorified sales associate.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to give instructions, coach in and motivate employees at the beginning of shift, and provide positive feedback. Tell staff what they "can do" not what they "can't" Manage instead of trying to outsell staff.... Hire a stock person Floor staff shouldn't be receiving and neither should the manager. Stop trying to save every penny!

    Cons

    Pros

Great relationship with co-workers, everyone is really friendly and you make some great friends. Not too strict or lenient, managers are very willing to accommodate your needs.

    Cons

Hard to know all the technologies and all the specifics about every shoe when not working a lot. But all co-workers and managers are willing to help you out a lot.

I worked at New Balance full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I liked the employee discount and the friendly atmosphere with my fellow coworkers. We had sales goals but it was not a do or die sales environment.

    Cons

Crappy crappy salary and terrible hours. I was a full timer and half of my time there barely worked 24 hours. It was pathetic really.

    Advice to Management

Keep up with the training and product knowledge. Please have the management have more contact with the employees. I never heard from my manager what I was doing right or wrong.
