I have been working at Ledcor full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Lots of opportunity for advancement if you are not self entitled and willing to prove your worth.
Very competitive wages for designation groups.
Evolving company with excellent growth and lots of projects.
    Lots of opportunity for overtime.
Most people are great to work with and have a good safety culture mind set.
The company will go above and beyond (usually) to keep you working on smaller projects between other major projects.
The company is starting to employees younger people into supervisor / management roles.

    Cons

Management and other higher segments are fractured with no engagement with "lower level" employees.
The company hockey team and everything around it gives you an advantage over other employees.
Too many divided lines between segments of the company that should be working together.
The "old boys" network is very strong and used to doing things the old way not changing with the times.
A large group of Superintendents and PM's are terrible planners / executors keeping "the cards to the chest" Its rare to be given an outlook to be able to plan ahead. Then you get raked over the coals and micro managed because you spent too much on rush supplies.
The young superintendents are generally mentored by senior superintendents so they get great knowledge but pick up bad habits.

    Advice to Management

    See cons.
We also need to hold sub trades to a higher standard.

    Pros

The company cares about your growth and development, they are not just looking to fill a position. There is a great team of people working at Ledcor that are easy to work with and are very helpful with any questions that come up. Ledcor is also a very diverse company, which provides a lot of learning opportunities and makes work more interesting.

    Cons

Nothing that really stands out to me.

I have been working at Ledcor full-time

    Pros

Ledcor is a company that is very diverse in the services it offers, and contains many different divisions (e.g. Construction, Pipeline, Highway Maintenance, etc.) Because of this, learning reception was challenging in a positive way -- meaning there is a lot to learn, but it is an interesting and dynamic company with lots to offer.

    Cons

The downside to being a receptionist at Ledcor is what I imagine to be the downside of being a receptionist anywhere -- after you've learned the job and have familiarized yourself with the daily tasks, it because rather mundane and repetitive. This is not so much a negative reflection of the company, but possibly just the nature of the position.

    Advice to Management

Management at Ledcor does a good job of giving their employees space to do their work independently, and never micro-manages. However, Management sometimes assumes their employee's level of knowledge matches their own, and can grow frustrated when their subordinates require additional assistance to complete a task.
