I worked at Ledcor (More than a year)

    Pros

Ledcor is one of the greatest company I ever worked for. For the time I was with them, they were always concerned about their employees and their family welfare.

    Cons

I believe that management should investigate any/all issues before making a final decision on people's career. Mainly by asking all parties involve for their side of the story and investigate with the employees involved. That way they could get a broader picture of what the overall issue is.

    Advice to Management

Please go back to caring about all your employee, what I mean by that is do not take the supervisor's word for everything just because he is the supervisor...they can be wrong too.

I have been working at Ledcor full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of training available, coworkers are all very nice. Benefits are industry standard and so is the pay. They focus a lot on safety.

    Cons

Complete boys club. There are hundreds of layoffs lately in every department and there is very little compassion. I wish they would level with everyone instead of having another big, catered lunch to say how great everything is (followed by more layoffs). They say they are family focused but it doesn't actually feel that way. All new hires are called "temporary" so they can lay them off easier. Outlook is bleak. Everyone in my division is running .

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees with more respect and honesty. Very little integrity with management and it has really affected morale.

    Pros

Very safety conscious employer. Opportunity for great wage, specialized training and overtime

The company can lay workers off without notice and sometimes hires without vetting candidates.

    Advice to Management

Complete regular reviews of Foreman and ask their feedback of crew members. Include production timelines that are realistic.

I have been working at Ledcor full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good, talented people. The work is challenging. The work environment is respectful. You have enough space to work on your projects (no micromanaging).

    Cons

Too conservative, old-fashioned management style. Change is slow, it shares same challenges as any big corporation.

    Advice to Management

You would benefit from having executives whose expertise is not construction-only. Bring generational and gender diversity to the top level.
