Pros

Honestly, the competitive advantage of Heap as a product can not be overstated. Heap is head and shoulders above the competition, and differentiated at a deep architectural level. The product led growth alone proves that Heap is a winner in the segment. This makes working here fun! The product team, the marketing team, sales and engineering, we all thrive on ideas to keep building on this incredible technological base. One of the values here is Respectful Candour, and it plays out well . We're all pulling in the same direction.

Cons

Heap is a slack first organization, which on the one hand makes us nimble and transparent in communication, but can also be overwhelming when trying to figure out which channel is the best one to ask questions or engage with teams.

Pros

Transparency and accountability, Heap is a values-driven organization lead by an incredibly knowledgeable exec team. I constantly feel like I'm working with some of the most brilliant people in their respective roles I've ever encountered and also feel like I always have a strong support system should I ever need it - Ridiculous amounts of learning, can't help but feel like I've developed significantly more in terms of my career trajectory in the amount of time I've been here compared to anywhere else - Really strong support network. Struggling with a physical disability I never feel like I have to hide anything from my colleagues who are always respectful and supportive going beyond just empty words like I hope you feel better, everyone will go out of their way to ensure you're well supported and equipped with the tools you need to succeed - Really great perks and benefits like 12 mental health days a year (company shut down) + Unlimited vacation

Cons

- Heap is a " startup" culture, to thrive you need to have initiative and be willing to "pave the way" yourself if you need to. You also have to be adaptable because sometimes things can change really quickly - Sometimes work-life balance can be hard to manage especially if you have a lot of things on your plate, though not much more than any other product role I've worked in the past. - Need to have strong communication skills, mostly due to a virtual first environment, onus is on you to overcommunicate rather than under. - Definitely faced a bit of imposter syndrome stemming from working with such amazing people.

Pros

When you work for Heap, you get a high level of trust from everyone else, and the chance to make a big difference. I also like the emphasis on written communication over anything else, as I find it keeps everyone on the same page and promotes more discussion across the team.

Cons

Some people may not like the level of independence needed to work here. You have to make a lot of calls yourself.
