Pros
Been working with GBCH for 6 months. Really ambitious & connected leadership. Fantastic history behind the organisation (see some past cons though). A really good time to work for them as ambitious leadership is pushing change at a rate of knots, and I’m given a lot of autonomy. Very flexible / open to how I work (virtually, and at random hours!). The colleagues I’ve met work hard & are up for new ideas. For career progression I’ve already made some fantastic new connections & I like the democratic structure (aka no demonic boss). Most of all I like being able to make an impact & feel that I’m part of something that is going to make a huge impact - currently working on a covid project which is supremely timely. Basically, I feel proud & valued, which is a good feeling for a job.
Cons
Not massively tech savvy (same old NGO problem, sigh) but definitely open to and already making changes. I got the sense when I started that there was some frustration at what wasn’t being achieved, but to be fair the new CEO joined to turn it around so my timing was good and I haven’t experienced anything other than gung ho.
