Pros

Autonomy, flexibility, global reach, pretty good with work life balance depending on where you work.

Cons

The disorganization of the organization is prohibitive of getting anything accomplished. Management has no idea what they are doing and what is happening within their company. It is like the Wild West.

Empowering our crew to work autonomously and flexibly is something we really hold dear so I'm glad to hear you say that. It's also great to know that you felt like you had a great work-life balance. I’m sorry to hear that you don’t feel connected with our strategic focus and direction. If you feel comfortable reaching out, I’d love to hear more about your concerns so that I can address these more specifically, both internally and externally. Thanks, Frank

Thank you for your review. We are not sure that it this one is for Finder as we do not have any software developers in New Zealand. As our CTO, I personally find micro management to be incredibly disempowering and it ultimately leads to poorer quality outcomes. I’m not a fan. I prefer instead to align on what our goals are and strive to let squads achieve them as autonomously as possible. We agree on the outcomes and are flexible on the process to get there and not the other way around. Therefore, while the CPO and I are ultimately accountable for delivery, season planning, sprint planning, retrospectives, and other prioritisation conversations are the responsibility of the engineering lead, principal engineer, product manager and designer of the group in service to the delivery of their goals.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. It’s great to hear that you enjoyed the autonomy and the space to think creatively, that’s something we strive to foster. We also understand that strategy shifts can feel overwhelming at times, and we're continually working to improve how we communicate and manage change. We’re grateful for your time with us and wish you all the very best for what’s next. Will
