Pros
* Very smart, friendly people * Strong brand and credibility within healthcare industry * Many leadership opportunties * Decent pay and benefits * Great starting point for a career in healthcare - any other job will be a breeze after this
Cons
* Very long work hours. Be prepared to cancel vacations, pull all-nighters, and work on weekends and holidays. Plus, your Managers will expect you to be enthusiastic about it. * They "reward" their strongest people by dumping more and more work on them in an effort to give them "challenges" and "developmental opportunties." Then they hold you back from promotion when your performance slips because you were working 80hrs a week and getting no sleep. * Lots of pressure to use the India teams in order to cut costs, which results in weeks on end of 11pm calls with India. * Excessive requests to lead internal initiatives, many of which seem to exist solely so people can say they led a training - nevermind whether the training was actually useful or necessary. * No brand recognition outside of healthcare. Do not let them fool you into thinking that this will carry the same weight on your resume as one of the bigger strategy consulting firms.
