Pros
I've met a lot of great coworkers here and I believe everyone needs to work a service industry job at least once in their lives. It's a humbling experience.
Cons
They absolutely refuse to fix the air conditioning in the back rooms. The stock associates have to unload trucks and lift heavy boxes for a minimum of four hours straight in a room that feels like a sauna. Several front end employees have ventured into the back rooms and ask us how we deal with these conditions... People complain about it but the company always lies to us like they're "working on it". That's a lie because I know an employee that has worked here for 5 years and he jokes about how they've been saying that since he started. In reality, they don't seem to view that as a priority. There's no other reason why a billion-dollar company won't provide its employees with AC. Also, in the eight months that I've worked here, I have not received a bonus, raise, etc. even though my team coach and the store manager have both verbally praised me. If my work ethic is worth praise, why can't that be awarded in the form of a bonus? Instead, if you set the bar high here, they'll only use that to give you more work since you are seen as a dependable employee. Essentially, you will be punished with more work for being a good employee but still make the same amount as your peers that perform at a lesser rate. Some of these customers are a handful and I'm tired of them letting their unraised children run/play/drive the mobility scooters around the store. PPTO does not stack up fast enough. I believe full-time employees should have enough PPTO to take off at least 3 or 4 days a month. I only get like half a day's worth (4 hours) per month.
