Maybe good for initial job experience - Customer Service Manager Walmart Employee Review

Pros

A good place to interact with people and learn some basics about customer service. In this current job environment where you often must have some experience, Wal-Mart can be better than nothing.

Cons

Seems to be a lot of politics within the workplace. While they highlight the opportunities to advance in the company, it is often near impossible to get promoted. Also injuries on the job are highly frowned upon (even if not your fault) and if the injury is serious your case will probably be dragged out forever until you quit. (occurred to a relative) Upper store management will often schedule inadequate sales floor coverage so as to decrease store expenses and increase their bonuses (at the expense of providing great customer service) I don't know how many times I could not find enough people to staff the registers and had customers were complaining of long lines.

Pros

Advancement opportunities, great at developing skills, great place to learn a skill and grow your resume, or grow with the company.

Cons

Understaffing issues negatively affects all parts of their business. However, Walmart has increased their minimum hourly rate with hopes to attract more committed employees, and retain better employees.
