Pros

OK wages, decent benefits, some really nice co-workers and customers. We had an awesome co-manager, who is now store manager, who does things the way Sam Walton envisioned.

Cons

Rude and nasty customers, never enough cashiers, management not scheduling enough help and then yelling at you because you have lines building up, they say no reprisal for their "open door" policy...but there is, most employees are part time and at different times throughout the year you may be cut down to as low as 16 hours a week. Staffing in general is a huge problem, never enough staff to cover for breaks and lunches.

Pros

Advancement opportunities, great at developing skills, great place to learn a skill and grow your resume, or grow with the company.

Cons

Understaffing issues negatively affects all parts of their business. However, Walmart has increased their minimum hourly rate with hopes to attract more committed employees, and retain better employees.
