Pros

Usually pay more than other businesses, LOTS of co-workers, so finding new people to befriend is fairly easy. You'll ALWAYS have stories to tell when you come home.

Cons

New pay raise structuring means pay raises few and far between. LOTS of co-workers also means working with people you will hate and who want you to to their work. The stories you have to tell are 99% horrible and make you wish you could quit. Wal-Mart is NOT afraid to fire you for any reason, because there's always someone who can fill your position. They will suck you DRY and then grind your bones. The most fit person will waste away at Wal-Mart. Then they'll fire you for poor job performance and hire fresh meat. Wal-Mart is a company that, through its own structure, will make you hate your job quickly. No matter how much you may hate your current job, you WILL eventually hate Wal-Mart more. The heating and A/C system as well as the parking lot lights are controlled by central computers at WM HQ in Bentonville, Arkansas. If the lights fail to come on, management has to call Arkansas to get them turned on.

Pros

Advancement opportunities, great at developing skills, great place to learn a skill and grow your resume, or grow with the company.

Cons

Understaffing issues negatively affects all parts of their business. However, Walmart has increased their minimum hourly rate with hopes to attract more committed employees, and retain better employees.
