Pros
Walmart is basically a place for a retiree, or someone whom has no other job to acquire. The people that I would recommend would be, first and foremost retirees if you are not looking to make much money so that it won't mess up your social security, young graduates out of high school seeking employment as a starter, and lastly those people who are desperately in need of a job. They do however compensate those work overnight, although not much it still helps.
Cons
The benefits with this company are horrendous. The pay scale is horrendous for the amount of work that they expect and require of you. There advancement opportunities are limited to favorites, and only lead to more work for a wage that is not worth taking the promotion. Overall, I would recommend Walmart as a place to work, unless it is recommended to those mentioned above in the pros. As far as working and life balance, if you are in school, I would not recommend this job for they are a retail store, which requires open availability for the most part. Technically speaking, meaning you would be scheduled at any given time of the day, there are no set hours unless you choose to work overnight. The raises that are given are also horrendous.
