Pros

Managing the Vision Center in a low volume store is not bad. In my opinion, the pay is fine. The hours are improving. Vacation time is good. Insurance benefits are good. Training for advancement has improved.

Cons

If you don't keep the VC staffed well, you end up working too much with too few breaks. Raises are miniscule. Opportunity for advancement is minimal. Training for new hires does not flow well. The book chapters do not prepare the new associate to be ready to work alone quickly. The process for hiring new staff is terrible. Positions can't be opened until candidates have applied. Candidates should fall into the requisition even if they apply after it was opened.

Pros

Advancement opportunities, great at developing skills, great place to learn a skill and grow your resume, or grow with the company.

Cons

Understaffing issues negatively affects all parts of their business. However, Walmart has increased their minimum hourly rate with hopes to attract more committed employees, and retain better employees.
