Pros

Walmart probably wont go out of business any time soon. Lots of different options for jobs to do so chances are you can find something you can live with.

Cons

Forget about Full time. You wont get it. Full time associates frequently get part time hours. Bonuses are rare and small. No such thing as personal performance bonuses. Everything is based on whole store performance. Pay rate is barely over minimum wage. You will not get a high enough annual review to get any better than the minimum pay increase almost no matter what you do. Walmart's policy is "Strive for excellence" but management policy is "Impossible expectations" Customer should be first but in reality "Get your assigned tasks completed" comes first. Spending a lot of time helping customers will get you in trouble. If you regularly get all your work done on time then management cuts hours or increases work load. Respect is a term used very loosely. Walmart makes the lives of pregnant women and elderly associates as difficult as possible. Management will find a way to fire you if they don't like you.

Pros

Advancement opportunities, great at developing skills, great place to learn a skill and grow your resume, or grow with the company.

Cons

Understaffing issues negatively affects all parts of their business. However, Walmart has increased their minimum hourly rate with hopes to attract more committed employees, and retain better employees.
