Pros

Can move up easily to assistant manager. Pay is good for not needing a degree. Each store environment is vastly different with management. Working with diverse fun people. Very engaged in the community and helping to make a difference.

Cons

Promoting higher is extremely difficult, so many assistants and very few Comanager positions. Physically hard as you get older, crawling on floors, up and down ladders, walking on cement 10+ hours a day. Position is for the 20 - 40 year olds, not many older than that unless they move up to higher positions.

Pros

Advancement opportunities, great at developing skills, great place to learn a skill and grow your resume, or grow with the company.

Cons

Understaffing issues negatively affects all parts of their business. However, Walmart has increased their minimum hourly rate with hopes to attract more committed employees, and retain better employees.
