I don't get all the good reviews because from the inside it's a pretty toxic and bad working environment: - People get fired from one day to another, or sometimes after months of being bullied by their managers. HR is aware but they tend to support the toxic managers. Therefore you mostly work with colleagues who are either depressed, lost, or in burnout. Many people left Vinted with PTSD, and the inability to work for a while afterward … - The company’s mission and values are only for attracting talent and for marketing purposes. From the inside those values are also only used to evaluate you (they are using those values to rate you during your evaluation, eg. Did you take enough ownership? Did you care enough? Did you aim high), but at no point did we get an explanation about what it means to "care" or to "aim high" at Vinted, so you are rated on a very arbitrary way. - There's also a big cultural shock between the Berlin office and the headquarters in Vilnius. You are more protected if you're Lithuanian and working from the main office. Other offices tend to be forgotten and people are more likely to get fired (hence the general sadness of the Berlin office). There are also issues of communication with the HQ, not everyone is fluent in English and also people tend to be quite rude during meetings or over Slack. - Strong lack of diversity (all their talks about diversity are very shallow, inauthentic, and sometimes even quite offensive!), for example, the top management is at 95% composed of men. They are also about to open a new office in Lithuania, this is not sending the message that they want to improve their lack of diversity. - Very hard to grow, people tend to get stuck in their positions with no opportunities to grow. - Lots of office politics, this is the only way to survive in this company. If you are looking for a company where you can be yourself, where you will feel happy at work, this isn’t the one. - Strong legacy: people who are in there for ages (so mainly from the HQ) have titles such as "senior" or "senior director". For newcomers, despite having lots of experience it will be hard for you to get similar titles. All in all: They attract you with fancy values, an attractive mission but the reality is pretty harsh.

This also includes aligning our offices across locations and increasing our efforts to create an even more inclusive environment for all our employees worldwide. We started our DEI journey some time ago and have now established long-term targets, measurements, and internal communities to encourage conversations, exchange, and collaboration among our global team. This journey takes time and effort from everyone, but we are dedicated to making a positive change and are proud of our progress.
