Pros
I was proud to work at Vanguard! Their reputation and what they stand for in the investment community is and has always been awesome. Vanguard offered a solid retirement plan that started on the first day of employment. I was always impressed with the health benefits offered to both full and part-time Crewmembers. Many took advantage of the outstanding education reimbursement available for graduate and under graduate studies. I enjoyed going to work at a large reputable company that was always fair and ethical to all of it's investors. The partnership plan was nice for those hired many, many years ago!
Cons
If you were not part of the chosen few then forget it. Unfortunately, it is not about how good you were at your job or your prior work experience instead it seemed to be like "The Good Boys Club" where only the privileged few were invited. As a member of the management team it was always impossible to pay for performance, the year end system was set up so that you had to rob Peter to pay Paul. The partnership plan did reward and encourage loyalty but unfortunately it also rewarded incompetent crew to stay on board. I have worked at several other companies that would have fired those under performers but instead it seems they just got shuffled into other departments.
