Pros

Discount in store and in salon. Selling great products. Interations with customers, helping people on a daily basis. Gratis is given to management.

Cons

Unrealistic expectations for all duties. Managers ring up guests at least 25 hours a week due to lack of hours for cashiers. You're expected to hire a large staff and give employees less than 10 hours a week. Ridiculous punch policy. I've seen managers and staff that have worked hard for this company only to get fired because of the punch policy. You are given minimal hours and endless tasks.

Pros

If you like helping people find skincare and makeup that suits them, it's a nice place to be--plus you get to take home some products for free every once in a while as gratis!

Cons

Your Ulta credit card is in danger of being heavily used--whoops! Also, even if you really know your stuff and are in the middle of speaking with customers, if they need someone at the register, they will replace you on the floor with a Prestige Beauty Advisor, which was always super disappointing. Especially if you've already established rapport with the guest and their cart is getting full. Also, customers have shared feeling racially profiled, being closely followed. Not cool. Something to keep in mind so you don't accidentally do that if you're part of the team.
