Pros

Growing company with a lot of outdated senior management. This growing company has departments that are growing closer to retirement and dust in the wind rather than with the company.

Cons

Lack of leadership, Poor Management, Retaliation are just a few. Company has managers clock out for "lunch" but does not allow them to leave the building- to control unpaid "rest" time. Request employees to work while off of the clock. Was told you will receive approx. 15-20 hours weekly on avg. only to receive 8-10 hours on avg. After each work shift the manager has you wait by the front door before you can leave so that they can "check" you out causing you to add up to 10 minutes more to you shift being unpaid. Hostility from corp management causing employees to always be on edge. Poor inventory control process. Poor DC process. Poor IT department. Poor HR department. Poor LP department. Poor Guest service department. Poor Training!!! No work/life balance as they claim. You WILL receive phone calls on your days off and be required to take conf. calls on your personal time using your personal phone.

Pros

If you like helping people find skincare and makeup that suits them, it's a nice place to be--plus you get to take home some products for free every once in a while as gratis!

Cons

Your Ulta credit card is in danger of being heavily used--whoops! Also, even if you really know your stuff and are in the middle of speaking with customers, if they need someone at the register, they will replace you on the floor with a Prestige Beauty Advisor, which was always super disappointing. Especially if you've already established rapport with the guest and their cart is getting full. Also, customers have shared feeling racially profiled, being closely followed. Not cool. Something to keep in mind so you don't accidentally do that if you're part of the team.
