The Home Depot wheel of values is a sham. The only people that they take care of are their shareholders with little regard for those that do the work and earn them their profits. District staff and above are aloof and are disassociated with those that actually do the work and in many cases view them with contempt. The Home Depot loudly states how it helps associates with higher education but the reality of their scheduling requirements and their low wages makes it extremely difficult to obtain a secondary education while working there (impossible if you are also trying to support a family). Home Depot does a poor job of delivering on it's promises both to the consumer and the associates by advertising promotions that are not clearly taught the associates and are in some instances impossible to deliver on. Home Depot will stay open in weather emergencies regardless of the hazards that it poses to their associates (staying open even while states close their roads), Home Depot hires at the lowest possible wages often paying their cashiers near minimum wage. Home Depot intimidates store management into contributing to their PAC which pushes an agenda that is contrary to the interests of their associates as well as the consumers at large (pushed for tax on online purchases as well as opposition to raising the minimum wage). Home Depot uses "employment at will" to get rid of higher compensated veteran managers and replace them with younger less compensated managers. Home Depot steals from their managers by firing them after they have earned their bonuses but before they have paid them and uses their own flawed policies to justify their actions. Complaints to their corporate headquarters and CEO are fielded by their team of HR trolls who merely confirm that their flawed unethical processes were followed.
