The Frontier Project

Now known as Frontier (VA)

Is this your company?

Save the environment and be a part of the hippest place in town, but lose your morals at the door. - Anonymous employee The Frontier Project Employee Review

Pros

A lot of the work done is done with the client's needs in mind, and some if it is good work.

Cons

Take into consideration what you do see and what you don't. Realize that the founder (and minority owner) lost his previous job because of unwarranted advances toward a colleague at that company. Know that a subordinate quit abruptly early into the TFP's existence due to another unwarranted offense. Understand that the current CEO (and majority owner) was also advanced upon and bit back, leaving her husband to join forces with this awful person. Since then, a civil suit was filed by another sexually harassed employee. The ownership and leadership (if you can call it that) is toxic and creates an environment that lacks simple morals as well as an atmosphere that leave individuals utterly broken for thinking that this opportunity is really as wonderful as it sounds. Look at turnover rates and inquire. Simply beware.

Pros

I love The Frontier Project portfolio of companies. It's a work environment where I am encouraged to challenge myself to be my best self. We are a -- practice what you preach -- environment so when we ask our clients to be agile, we ask each other to be agile. When we ask our clients to have courage to try new things, we ask each other to have courage to try new things. When we ask our clients to challenge their habits and rethink their purpose, we ask each other to challenge our habits and rethink our purpose. It's an incredible place where I use my brain and think harder and differently everyday. This place has literally made me smarter and I am forever grateful for that gift.

Cons

Our company encourages autonomy and is deliverable driven. In order to thrive here you have to be able to know how to drive yourself forward, self manage your time (meaning protect it too), and be insanely open to giving and receiving constant feedback. Though that may not sound like a con, but I think for many people it is. You can't hide here and fly under the radar. So if you don't have a lot of self confidence and stamina in the face of change this environment can be very hard to be in for an extended period time.
