Good workplace, highly disorganized - Front Desk Associate SpringHill Suites Employee Review

Pros

I enjoyed the work itself. My managers were very lax and allowed us to read or do homework when guests weren't in view. Most guests were friendly, although like any customer service position it had it's rude guests as well. The pay wasn't bad for the work, although during wedding season and holiday seasons it does feel like a stretch. They gave us $20 after Christmas to make up for it, but honestly that was not fair compensation for the extra work that was taken on. They don't drug test at all (at least at my location).

Cons

The place was disorganized. Management often lost documents and had very random schedules. There wasn't always a manager in office so when guests would want one, there was no way to appease them. I lost my job when the pandemic started with the promise of being allowed back, but they only reached out once to delay my return for a few more months ( nearly a year ago). Then I found that they were hiring for my position over the last several weeks/months. They either never reached out to fire me, or they forgot that I was meant to come back (and knowing the disorganization of management, that's my guess). There didn't seem to be room for advancement or raises/bonuses.
